Your First Visit

Your first visit is a chance for you to tell us about any concerns you have with your smile and if there is a treatment you are already interested in learning more about.

Your first visit may be one that was recommended to you by your general dentist, or one you have booked to address something that has been bothering you for some time. It is your chance to meet Dr David Austin and ask as many questions as you wish, and learn more about us and what we can offer you.

What should I expect at my first consultation?

Your first visit will be a comprehensive consultation that may be 40-60 minutes in length. After providing any relevant medical and dental history, you will meet Dr Austin and his treatment coordinator in the consultation space. Here, we will listen to what has brought you to us and we will begin the assessment and consultation.

After clinical photos are taken, a detailed assessment will be undertaken and documented by Dr Austin. This will help Dr Austin determine what he needs to address and the best course of treatment for you. In some cases, a digital scan of your teeth and bite will also be taken.

Next, Dr Austin will describe any orthodontic concerns and may use the clinical photos to demonstrate what he has observed. He will, then, explain what treatment options are available to you, from the most ideal to all other avenues you can take.

From here, the treatment coordinator will help you further understand the recommended treatment, including the length of treatment, what will likely be involved, and the costs associated with it. She will also explain available payment and financing options.

We encourage you to ask as many questions as you like, and we will provide you with our contact details for those questions that won’t come to you until you leave. Our treatment coordinator and administration team will help you book your next appointment and you will be given a package of helpful information to take home.
